You will also lead and coordinate the problem investigation activity on complex quality issues to a) define root cause, b) implement containment actions, and c) determine final solutions to eradicate the said concerns in a timely manner.

Ideally you will have a HND / HNC or equivalent in Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience in automotive engineering is an advantage but not essential. You must also be able to both demonstrate and facilitate problem-solving activities, including extensive experience of FMEA, Infinity Diagrams and other Quality tools and also have a hands on approach to solving problems.

Position Description

As part of an established, motivated and fast moving team, the successful candidate would work for an experienced team leader to help deliver engine commodities across several applications. Delivery scale would be from Concept to post Launch and subsequent in field warranty support.
Keys areas of responsibility;

Design, development and package analysis (working with Design and CAD engineers),
Virtual build support (working with Design and CAD engineers),
Project management to GPDS milestones,
Supplier liaison, Issue resolution,
Change management via WERs releasing system (BOM updates),
Quality Process (DFMEA & EFDVS),
Launch preparation via APQP and PSW deliverables
Skills Required
Automotive engineering experience, preferably in engines.
PC skills including project, excel and word
Skills Preferred
Experience of engine fuel, exhaust manifold or pressure charging systems preferred
Experience Required
Experience of component delivery to meet cost, performance and attribute targets.
Good understanding of engine components and requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and MSProject.
Strong understanding and application of design quality tools such as DFMEA, Robustness Studies etc.
Awareness of manufacturing processes associated with engine components and engine assembly.

A CAE Analyst- Engine Durability is required to work on a long term contract basis for a leading automotive company based at Whitley the West Midlands. The role is offering a rate of £30.19 Ltd Co per hour.

As a CAE Analyst- Engine Durability you will be responsible for working on Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH), durability and tribology assessments on components and systems within Base Engines (Gasoline and Diesel), Transmissions and driveline, intake and exhaust systems, fuel and cooling systems.

For this position you should ideally have skills and experience in:

* Durability and NVH analysis of variety Powertrain systems using Finite Element methods.
* Degree educated - BSc/MSc Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
* Construct Finite Element models from CAD geometry.
* Perform tribology assessments of base engine components.
* Ability to carry out fatigue assessments using stress or strain based techniques.
* Understanding of Powertrain systems, structures and dynamics.
* Previous use of HYPERWORKS for pre and post processing, the solvers NASTRAN and ABAQUS and Fatigue analyses.
