Working closely with the Technical Support Supervisor, this role is instrumental in delivery of high level technical support services to the company's clients, within the UK and Worldwide.
The role will see you dealing with all aspects of system hardware & software, including, design, modification, installation, upgrade, maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities to include:
- Liaise with customers to establish their systems requirements, provide practical solutions (with the assistance of an experienced engineer where necessary).
- Specify and requisition necessary hardware or software.
- Design of changes to software and/or hardware for modification/rectification work.
- Ensure compliance with QA procedures, Company procedures and statutory regulations.
- Modify drawings, software, and associated documentation.
- Engage in regular communication with clients to obtain information and keep clients informed of developments.
- Schedule site visits as necessary.
- Provide data and assistance to the Technical Support Supervisor for them to produce quotations.
- Specify and requisition necessary hardware or software.
- Write software, install, commission and test systems.
- Modify, repair, and maintain wiring and hardware.
- Assist in the provision of 24/7 support to customers via the on-call system, on a rota basis.
- Production of relevant documentation.
- Keep abreast of current technologies, legislation, and relevant standards.
Applicants will ideally be minimum HNC qualified, or possess 2 years+ experience providing support to PLC/SCADA or process controls projects/clients. Any controls panel wiring or DCS systems experience would be beneficial.
This role will require occasional work overseas or offshore, it is expected that applicants will currently hold/be eligible to undertake an Offshore Survival and Medical certificate, and have no restrictions on working location imposed by visa.

You will be Degree educated in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) or currently have this, have had a minimum of 10 years demonstrable track record in Engineering business, have previous experience in designing and developing power/control products and have experience in managing a team of engineering professionals with a range of disciplines (systems, hardware, software and mechanical).
You will have a strong track record of:
- Analogue / Digital Design
- Single / Three Phase power (DC/AC, AC/DC, AC/AC, DC/AC power conversion) understanding
- Motor Control Inverters (between 100w to 10kW
