Our client, a Global Marketing Business, is seeking a Tax & Reporting Accountant for their central tax team in London.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Financial Planning in the maintenance & development of tax strategies, tax applications and tax compliance in the countries in which the company has its operations. This includes agreement on tax status, business compliance, VAT compliances, local income tax on expatriates and agreement with tax authorities of our tax structures.
- Responsible for the preparation, development and maintenance of the organisational policies and procedures relating to tax.
- To be a source of advice for the organisation in relation to any tax matters and ensure that knowledge is fully up to date.
- Maintain through consultants an international source of advice that VB can use to ensure expert local tax advice is received. Control cost of consultants.
- Support the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and notes and help to ensure they are completed in agreed timescales, reflect the financial activities of the organisation during the year, and comply with the latest IFRS based FReM.
- Provide full support to the Senior Finance Manager in all other management accounting projects and perform ad hoc duties as and when required.
The candidate will be ACA/CTA/ACCA qualified with good knowledge of world-wide taxation (VAT, corporate, expatriate).

JOB TITLE: FINANCE MANAGER
1. BACKGROUND

2. PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Finance Manager will be reporting to the financial controller and be responsible all the day to day finance activities of the company. This will include the preparation of the management accounts and also the maintenance of the sales/purchase and job costing activities and ad hoc finance reporting
3. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1. Management Accounts
• Preparing the monthly management information – including P&L Sheet/Balance sheet / Debtors information . This will include detailed analysis of the revenue and costs and the balance sheet reconciliations
3.2. Job Costing
• Working with the project managers/account team to manage the finance on all jobs
• Ensuring that we have client authorization for all jobs
• Reconciling the WIP on Paprika – both time and 3rd party expenses
• Ensuring all the invoices are sent out timely
3.3. Sales Ledger
• Work with the project manager/account teams to send out invoices in a timely manner
• Credit control – chase outstanding invoices with clients
• Maintenance of the client information on Paprika
3.4. Purchase Ledger
• Post all supplier invoices onto Paprika after they have been authorised
• Reconcile supplier statements and make payments to supplier
• Deal with any supplier queries
• Process all employee expense claims
3.5. Bank Reconciliations
• Reconcile all the banks on a weekly basis
• Post all receipts and payments onto Paprika
• Manage the Petty Cash and the Incentives Money
3.6. Tax reporting
• Preparation of the quarterly VAT Returns
• Assisting with any information required for the Corporation tax and PAYE reporting
3.7. Other
• Fixed asset register – maintenance
• Maintenance of the accounting system – Paprika – including training new staff and liaising with the software provider to resolve queries.
• Provide financial support for our US operations as required
• An understanding of payroll procedures
3.8. Year-end Procedures
• Assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts
• Assist in the preparation of any yearend tax information
4. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Undertakes any other activity as would be reasonably expected for the role, in agreement with their line manager
5. PERSONAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
The Finance Manager is expected to have the following skills and attributes:
• A graduate with an accountancy qualification or a finalist
• Experience of working in ‘Agency’ environment
• Computer Skills – Knowledge of the Paprika Job Costing System an advantage but not essential
• Commercially aware
• Numerate and strong PC Skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• The verbal communication skills to communicate effectively
