We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Quality Manager to lead and manage our quality engineering systems. You will particularly concentrate on implementing and integrating QA systems and processes into day-to-day operations. You will be a key member of the management team.

We are a privately owned, entrepreneurial manufacturing company employing over 100 people with turnover approaching £10m. Established over 40 years ago we have become one of the UK's most advanced engineering companies. Our programme of continuous investment and specialist knowledge enables us to offer our clients unique insights into the latest engineering processes. We apply this expertise within our precision engineering, rapid prototyping and design for manufacture services at our purpose built 95k square foot facility in East Cambridgeshire. Our accreditations include ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS AS 9100.
THE ROLE OF QUALITY MANAGER:
- Reports to our MD with responsibility for the performance of our quality systems.
- Further integrates quality systems into daily business operations.
- Manages and develops the quality team.
- Customer liaison and management.
- The major success factor will involve continuous improvement in quality KPIs.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES NEEDED BY THE QUALITY MANAGER:
- Likely to have an HNC/HND or Degree in an Engineering related discipline.
- Good understanding of quality tools with knowledge of AS 9100 an advantage.
- Successful track record of managing a QA team.
- Familiarity with component manufacture in a precision machining environment.
- Experience in a quality role within aerospace or automotive or another high-tech industry aiming for world-class standards.
THE BENEFITS:
It is envisaged that the salary will be in the range £40k to £50k entirely dependent on experience. The agreement of terms is unlikely to be an obstacle in securing the right candidate. We are based in East Cambridgeshire. The dramatic Fen countryside is home to villages, market towns and the historic, small city of Ely. The role is commutable from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Ely, Huntingdon, King's Lynn, Newmarket, Peterborough, St Neots, Thetford and Wisbech.
