My client is an 11-16 Academy located in North Bristol. The academy opened in 2008 and is housed in state-of-the-art buildings. The facilities are excellent with an on-site restaurant, great sports facilities and a well-stocked learning resource centre. The specialism of this Academy is Mathematics and ICT and the importance of these disciplines is emphasised throughout the curriculum. The school was given extensive funding to develop a 21st century ICT capability which includes a fully equipped Learning Resource Centre, access to Wi-Fi throughout the school, and a Virtual Learning Environment. The Academy is proud to have one of the highest computer-per-student ratios of any school in the area (better than one between two students) and students are encouraged to be competent with the use of computers and the internet in all lessons.
