Commissioning and Test Engineer (High Voltage Electrical Rotating Machinery)

As part of our continued and impressive growth, we are currently recruiting for a Commissioning and Test Engineer who will be based at our Head Office in Birmingham.
You will be responsible for verifying safety and protection systems prior to reinstallation and putting machines back into service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties will include but not be restricted to:-
Assess Test and Commissioning areas of Tender Agreements
Prepare Testing and Commissioning programme, ensuring adherence to company and client requirements
Prepare test equipment suitable for timely project completion on site
Conduct site testing programme
Prepare Commissioning Report
Preparation of Method Statement and QESH Documentation
Management of small projects
Carry out Electrical High Voltage Testing and ensure it is done safely, producing Method Statements.
Experience of electrical high voltage testing includes Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, Surge Testing, Voltage Withstand
Primary and secondary injection testing of electrical protection equipment to prevent and minimise damage to machines
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Successful candidates will ideally have a background as a Test Engineer dealing with rotating electrical machinery i.e. hydro generators or steam generators etc
Knowledge and application around IEC 60034
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree / HNC / HND within a relevant subject i.e. Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

A superb contract has arisen for an EMC development engineer to work on Radar development. Successful candidates will generate EMC tests having gathered the spec from customer requirements. Proven Automotive development & Electronics background required.
Our client are currently growing their Radar and Camera development teams as vehicle manufacturers move their focus to safety systems to meet upcoming legislation. This area of vehicle electronics will have huge impact on vehicles we buy in the future.
What you’ll do
- Review customer requirements then create EMC & electrical test specifications
- In conjunction with test engineer from EMC test house (in house or 3rd party), set up & perform EMC & electrical tests
- Create and review test reports
- Review results & discuss specific issues with customer
- Influence electronic designs to meet EMC requirements
What we are looking for
Essential:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or similar discipline
- Experience in automotive electronics ECU design for EMC
- Experience in running DV/PV test programmes
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident approach when dealing with customer
