A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading automotive engineering company with over 53 sites throughout the world today. The first 30 years saw the business blossom into fifteen different firms and factories both in Germany and elsewhere. The last nineteen years have seen a doubling in the number of both sites and employees.
Due to rapid growth and a number of new customers they now have openings for
quality engineers based at the Rubery site and Solihull sites
The main purpose of the Quality Engineer will be:
Responsible for all aspects of Quality Planning for new, re-validation and modified products at the company. Supporting production department requirements in terms of Quality Engineering activities.
Quality Engineer Key tasks include:
Prepare and review production quality documents – Press packs.
Develop quality control plans for all components.
Review and update quality control plans for all production components.
Responsibility for developing modern quality techniques within the framework of the project teams, including advanced product quality planning activities.
Prepare production part approvals and (Initial sample inspection report) ISIR submissions including required measurement activity.
Conducting of quality audits. (Product, process and internal quality)
Completion of engineering changes in a timely manner.
Use of Team Oriented Problem Solving (TOPS 8D) techniques and internal corrective action requests.
Reviewing and updating of (process (failure made effect analysis) PFMEA.
Providing support to Management in both day-to-day quality organisation and long term strategic objectives.
Providing on and off-site customer support.
Providing support for purchasing in supplier product approval and subsequent supplier auditing.
Developing and helping to implement procedures compliant with the company and industry standards, QS 9000/VDA 6.1& TS16949.
Being aware of and influencing Company objectives as identified within the business plan.
Promoting the Company’s philosophy of Continuous Improvement/Total Quality Management together with the company Vision and Principles.
Monitoring process/machinery with authority to close them down if product quality, procedures and/or work instructions are not compliant with laid out standards.
The successful Quality Engineer will possess the following qualifications and skills:
Quality experience within a first-tier second tier automotive environment
BETEC HNC in engineering discipline and/or IQA/City & Guilds 743 or equivalent.
Knowledge of engineering drawings
Knowledge of SPC
Knowledge of QM systems QS-9000 / VDA Systems 6.1 & TS16949
Able to communicate effectively at all levels

Immediate requirement for a Permanent Senior Infrastructure engineer
Role
The client is looking for a infrastructure design to undertake the detail design of roads, sewers, and associated infrastructure works for a varied client base, such as residential, industrial, commercial, health, and educational buildings. You will assist / undertake in the negotiation of Section 278, 38, 104 and 106 adoption and planning agreements on behalf of the clients with local authorities, Environment
Agency, Internal Drainage Boards and Water Authorities. Etc.
The client is looking for an experience candidate who will be able to lead a small infrastructure and or multi-disciplinary team, as required.
About You
An experience candidate with a Minimum of 10 to 15 years infrastructure design experience; including adoptable roads and drainage design.
Must have experience of design using WinDes, autotrack, TEDDS and AutoCA. Also some experience with BIM systems would be beneficial. Design experience of private drainage to Document H and M of the Building Regulations.
Recent experience of rail related projects would be an advantage but not essential.

Client is global consultancy who is now looking to recruit a senior Drainage engineer.
Role
To manage and be responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or service areas to the meet the client’s brief. Undertake services within an engineering environment which may include scheme investigation, site and structure inspections, data collection and analysis, works/construction inspection and supervision to progress scheme design, development and construction; Managing the delivery of technical outputs of project teams. Contributing to technical excellence and innovation across the team. Contributing to Value Management / Engineering to support Principal Engineers and Project Managers in ensuring that schemes are delivered with innovation. Deliver improvements to SHEQ within all aspects of projects and lead task groups where appropriate to develop, communicate and implement SHEQ improvements. Carrying out the checking, certifying and authorising for issue designs, documents, approvals, Professional Skill and Care Certificates and reports. .
About you
The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
To be a chartered / incorporated member (or equivalent) of a relevant professional institution. Or demonstrable experience. Have knowledge and experience in drainage and highways/general civil engineering projects and be able to check the technical outputs of the team prior to issue for authorisation.
Experience and a working knowledge of relevant design software and standards: most notably Micro Drainage (WinDes), PDS, CAD, MX, Flood Water Management Act 2010, Sewers for Adoption 7th Edition, sustainable drainage systems and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges. Knowledge of the determination of rainfall intensities and green field runoff. Experience and a working knowledge of Environment Agency procedures.

A large consultancy is now seeking to recruit Principle Bridge Engineers both contract and Permanent.
Role Responsibilities
Hands on Principle Bridge Engineers are required to assist with Design, inspections and assessments and client management. To provide technical support to more junior engineers within the Bridges and Civil Structures Team in Birmingham on the following:
• Design and checking of civil structures on major Highways and Rail projects in the UK and overseas.
• Feasibility and pioneering of structures.
• Production / Checking of structural reports including Approval in Principles, Feasibility Reports and Assessment Reports.
• Lead structural inspections and carry out assessments.
• Work as a team player and deliver quality to exceed client expectations.
Requirements
• Degree in Civil Engineering form an ICE accredited course.
• Charted with UK Institution/s
• No Visa restrictions to travel and work outside of the UK.
• Significant hands on experience of the design, checking and assessment of bridges and civil structures.
• Strong understanding of DMRB.
• Ability to sign off designs and undertake technical reviews of designs and checks.
• Excellent in written English – competent in providing final check and approval of technical reports.
• Ability to take the lead in meetings with clients and contractors.
• Reinforced concrete and pre-stressed beam design.
• Experience of post-tensioning
• Experience in the use of ASSHTO LRFD & Eurocodes for the design of bridges.
