ROLE:
The PR and Communications Manager will lead the PR and Press function, with responsibility for developing and implementing the Communications strategy as well as managing day to day communications and PR activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Pro-actively engage media (print, broadcast, online) to increase positive coverage of the organisation and their work.
b) Work with the team and externally to create and deliver awareness campaigns in support of their strategy, aims and objectives.
c) Play an active role in developing and implementing the Communications Strategy alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications.
d) Work with external PR and Marketing agencies when appropriate to maximise PR/Marketing opportunities.
e) Ensure that their brand acts with consistency and integrity ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to and consistent across the organisation.
f) Write/edit the staff internal e-newsletter and assisting in the creation and distribution of any other key internal communications e.g. Chairman’s end of year message, special announcements.
g) Working with relevant individuals to assist in the development of Case for Support and Annual Review documentation.
h) Disseminate key messages to colleagues on a regular basis to ensure consistent communications across team and departments.
i) Make branding and final formatting modifications to key “corporate level” documents: e.g. Annual Reports; Three Year Plan etc – and disseminate if required.
j) Manage and develop their website; manage the production of their corporate and key fundraising publications and sign off on other publications produced by colleagues.
k) Liaise with all functions within the organisation, in particular key members of the Fundraising team.

m) Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
