Our client has an excellent reputation for technical excellence, innovation and quality of work. Their environmental consulting services include Contaminated Sites and Remediation Management advice, Water Resources and Sustainability advice, and Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIA). Contaminated Sites is a core expertise for this company and, as a result of continued success in the UK and internationally, they are actively seeking a Senior Consultant for Contaminated Land to be based in their Avon office.
The role will include: desk studies and site investigation; reviewing and interpreting data management; undertaking technical project work to a high standard which may include leading site work; complying with Health and Safety policies and procedures; managing Health and Safety on site; providing site Health and Safety training; preparing HSSE plans and method statements; understanding the content and significance of proposals; supporting the company to deliver high quality work to clients; taking ownership of own CPD and professional development; progressing towards Chartership of a relevant professional body and taking an active part in the performance review process.
The qualifications necessary for this position are: a relevant degree; evidence of continuing professional development; land quality and groundwater risk assessment and modelling; the ability to present, analyse and interpret data; knowledge of hydrogeology, contaminated land, contaminant fate and transport; development of site conceptual models, analytical methodologies and sampling procedures; knowledge and experience of desk studies; knowledge of soil/water/gas and vapour sampling procedures; experience of technical reporting and related field work; an ability to manage HSSE aspects of site work and to lead the HSSE culture of a project; an ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors; excellent oral and written communication skills; an ability to write clear, concise reports and think logically and clearly; IT skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. A full valid driving licence is essential.
The following experience would be advantageous: an ability to undertake site investigations; project management; risk assessment; site level Consultant and environmental Consultant experience.
