We are working with a primary school in Ashford who require a qualified and experienced teaching assistant to work one to one with a statemented pupil in year 6. The student has speech and language difficulties as well as challenging behaviour. The temporary position is to commence in September and continue for the duration of the academic year. The ideal teaching assistant will have as least NVQ L3. Additional training in Team Teach, PECS and Autism Awareness is desirable together with knowledge of the KS2 curriculum. Your role will be to;
• Support the educational social and emotional development of the child
• Provide support to the teacher in delivering lesson material
• At times, support small groups of children in literacy and numeracy
• Manage challenging behaviour in the classroom and on the playground

In return you will be given excellent support to develop your career working with SEN students. The school was rated good in their last OFSTED and hope to achieve a rating of outstanding in their next inspection. They are looking for an exceptional teaching assistant to help them achieve this goal. The school enjoys excellent facilities and a long standing and dedicated senior leadership team.
