Principal Engineer & Project Engineer. Transmission Control

Perm

This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer to lead ongoing client projects and to further develop the
capabilities of the multi-skilled internal team. The ideal applicant will have experience in the automotive sector with
experience of successfully delivering projects in a powertrain controls and electronic environment either in an OEM or
Tier 1 capacity having lead teams of engineers. As a Leader, you will deliver client projects.

This will include;

* Provide technical leadership for teams of engineers involved in controls and electronic projects for driveline and
transmission applications

* Focus on delivery of projects within time scale and budget

* Technical guidance for the development of control systems

* Technical and commercial negotiations with clients

* Driving the further introduction of quality procedures and validation processes

* Support of the Driveline and Transmissions Global Product Group in the development of market opportunities through
client interaction, proposal support and roadmap development

* Drive the development of future products and services

Required Qualifications and Skills:

* Degree in an Engineering or equivalent

* engineering/mechanical engineering/physics/computer science/software engineering/maths/control engineering)

* Skills in control systems for AT, AMT, DCT and CVT transmissions and extensive skills in the application of these
systems in production projects

* Analytical approach to developing controls algorithms in an automotive environment

* Experience of model-based development languages such - Matlab/Simulink, Embedded Coder, Targetlink, ASCET

* Ability to understand C-Code

* Prior relevant experience in the area of controls and electronics for transmission systems

* A proven track record of delivery of volume projects in the automotive industry (software development process, OEM
product life cycle, SOP development process)

* Specialist in automotive electrical and electronic systems (CAN, powertrain architectures, system interaction, OBD),
industry knowledge of transmission and driveline systems

* Ability to plan and deliver projects within budget and within the scoped time

* Ability to train junior engineers and develop a team, good interpersonal and communication skills

* Commercial awareness for preparation of projects and proposal development

* Able to be flexible on work location and prepared to travel within the UK and internationally on short assignments.
