Introduction:
My client based in Eastbourne, East Sussex is a leading manufacturer. Their products and process systems are installed
globally in a diverse range of industrial sectors including Food, Dairy and Pharmaceutical. They now require a Technical
Support Engineer to join their busy manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing
technical advisory and support to internal and external customers. It is envisaged that this position will be suited to
candidates with relevant extensive experience of working with pumps and their mechanical principles either in a technical
support or 'hands on' capacity.
This vacancy presents itself as an exciting opportunity for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces (Royal
Air Force, Royal Navy and Army). Therefore candidates coming from a mechanical background with experience and working
knowledge of pumps are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Secure prompt and effective communication, analysis and closing of claims in order to keep customer satisfaction and
even gain future credit.
- Technical advisory service and support to Alfa Laval Sales Companies, Tetra Pak and other independent channels.
- Technical advisory and support as regards the Sanitary Segments product portfolio, including pumps, tank equipment,
valves and automation, but with the main focus on pumps.
- Technical advisory and support as regards specific hygienic applications, i.e. dairy, brewery, pharmaceutical,
cosmetics etc.
- Product training courses for internal and external partners.
- Claim handling and trouble shooting.
- Provide effective training for customers and colleagues, as directed, utilising specialist knowledge as applicable.
- Provide customers with accurate quotations for pumps and ancillary equipment using the computer system and other tools
provided as appropriate, in accordance with service targets. Also to log all relevant data regarding quotations issued
into the - Sales Management database.
- Coordination and cooperation in connection with the above responsibilities.
Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
- Must hold a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification, ideally to HNC/HND level.
- Knowledge of pumps pumping systems flow regimes and calculations.
- Knowledge of rotary lobe pumps selection.
- Demonstrable experience within a mechanical discipline either 'hands on' or technical support.
- Able to work unsupervised as well as within a team.
- Ability to work accurately whilst under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Highly organised.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team Player.
- Problem solving skills.
- IT Literate.
Benefits:
- Salary - 24,000 - 26,000.
- Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am - 5pm.
