My client is a well established 1st tier manufacturer of components for the Automotive OEM's. They currently have a
requirement for an experienced and professional Quality Engineer. Reporting to the Quality Manager your primary function
will be to reduce customer concerns both external and internal by use of 8-discipline problem solving methods. Liaise
with the end customers regarding quality concerns and improvements.
Maintaining and improving established QS9000 systems to new TS 16949 requirements.

To ensure all customer requirements are accurately reflected in product quality and associated documentation.
To reduce internal and external quality concerns.
To continuously improve both internal and external quality levels, by effective problem solving and ongoing operator
awareness training.
Maintaining and improve established TS 16949 quality system.
5S, continuous improvement and measurable business performance outcomes.
Operates to agreed KPIs and is required to report on performance attained on a weekly basis.

Key Accountabilities include: -
Lead cross functional groups. To be a self starter.
Use G8D problem solving methods to provide effective containment, resolution and then prevention of recurrence for
internal, customer and sub-supplier concerns.
Prepare QOS data to monitor and prioritise continuous improvement activities (knowledge of Kaizen, FMEA, Poke Yoke).
Form part of new project teams to successfully introduce new products / changes to the operations (knowledge of APQP &
PPAP and tools such as Gauge R & R).
Stop production, where end customer could be affected by internal quality issues.
Good understanding of PPAP, PSW - PPAP & PSW submission & control (all aspects) and of control plans and PFMEA, ability
to lead cross functional PFMEA & Control Plan Teams.
Generate, modify & manage control plan & process flow to reflect least cost/zero defect activity. Introduce to operators
and affected areas by training & focusing on process parameter rather than product features.
Generate, modify & manage PFMEA to reflect least cost/zero defect activity including internal and external customer
specific demands (SC, CRT Supplement K) etc.
Build relationship with customers by routine managed visits.
Training matrix creation and management. Quality training of operators & others.
Ability to audit internal or external processes in line with TS or equivalent also to analyse customer returns and
generate reporting procedure.
Raise issues internal or external quality issues to Quality Manager.
Organise and manage stock sorts of internal and external customers in accordance with customers requirements - Supplier
quality management & routine customer visits.
QOS charts and ppm reporting and warranty analysis.
Ability to use measuring gauges, SPC compilation and analysis.
Generate and analyse capability studies.
Collate and manage all aspects of PSW / PPAP documentation to meet deadlines and ability to change and meet customer
demands.
Carry out patrol inspection, box audits, product checking, ordering replacement and repairs of quality equipment
(specifying and ordering gauges).
Generate and manage MSA, gauge R&Rs also work instructions, care points, visual aids.
Ad hoc requirements of business.
Fully comply with all company Health & Safety processes, systems and disciplines.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record gained in quality engineering within an automotive components
manufacturing environment. You will be fully conversant with modern quality techniques, principles and standards
including TS16949. Good supporting qualifications would also be of benefit.
