Part of an Engineering Group of Companies my client is a stockholder / manufacturer supplying customers world-wide with
metals, alloys, fittings, fasteners etc to a wide variety of industries that include Oil, Gas, Petro-Chemical & Nuclear
sectors.
At present they are looking to expand their sales team by recruitment an internal sales engineer who will handle domestic
sales and provide technical support to the Export Sales Department.
Role / Responsibilities: -
Build a relationship with the customer in order to provide a better service (learn customer likes / dislikes / standard
requirements etc.).
Review and interpret customer specifications in order to provide a complete quotation / for order entry.
Review and understand general specifications in order to apply them to new enquiries / orders. Create standard texts for
standard specifications to ensure that errors are not made in the quotation / order.
Attend meetings with the customer either in-house or customer's premises in order to review specifications / project
requirements / technical deviations / commercial clarifications etc.
Arrange conference calls with the customer when necessary to discuss requirements for a quotation / order.
Co-ordinate with various departments within the company to clarify requirements on orders / enquiries to ensure full
compliance.
Ensure that a record is kept of all actions / correspondence / where prices are from etc. so that other members of staff
are able to look after your enquiries / orders when you are out of the office.
Answer general calls for new enquiries / technical queries.
Provide assistance to other members of the team where possible
Enquiry / Quotation Stage: -
Review new enquiries ranging from day-to-day enquiries to project enquiries.
Provide pricing following cost estimation utilising general price lists or liaising with the suppliers.
Provide complete and comprehensive quotations including alternative options where beneficial to the customer.
Track new projects in order to try and win new business.
Provide general documentation with enquiries where requested.
Complete technical and commercial clarifications with the customer to ensure that the quotation is in accordance with the
customer requirements.
Order Stage: -
Enter orders in to the system for manufacture.
Review the purchase orders to ensure that they are in accordance with the quotation made.
Be the main contact for the customer and co-ordinate activities accordingly.
Ensure that each order has adequate credit cover or has been signed off by management.
Ensure that licensable materials have an export licence before shipment.
This is a key sales role and to reflect this, the remuneration package will be a balance of salary plus significant
commission.
