Job Title: RF Design Engineer
Location: Essex
Salary: Competitive + Benefits

RF Design Engineer required for a permanent role based in Essex. You will be degree or postgraduate qualified and have a wide range of bespoke radio design skills. While knowledge and experience of standards-based systems may be an advantage, the ability to develop custom transmitters and receivers for specialist communications systems, radio location or radar is essential. Working in a consultancy environment, you will be expected to meet clients, prepare proposals and work to strict timescales.

The following skills are essential:

Transmitter and receiver design skills with thorough knowledge of direct conversion and superheterodyne architectures
Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of frequency mixing, frequency synthesizers, amplifiers and filters.
Experience of developing transistor amplifiers
Experience of developing lumped element and/or printed filters
An understanding of digital modulation schemes and a range of air interfaces, whether standards based or bespoke
An understanding of the techniques used in developing radio electronics for a range of frequencies from DC to 5GHz or more
Able to work as a member of a team or occasionally on your own
Ability to write clear and concise English to a high standard
Experience in some of the following areas would also be an advantage:
Customer contact and proposal writing
Radio system design
Antenna design
Software development for automated testing
The complete project cycle from requirements capture through to manufacture
Experience in developing the skills of graduate engineers

Hours: 9.00 - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday
