CALLING ALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS!!
CALLING ALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS!!
My Central London based client is a global, fully integrated digital design agency and a leading international provider of marketing, customer communications & CRM solutions.
They work with a number of blue chip companies, many of whom are the world's best known brands.
Due to continued growth, they are now actively seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to join their friendly team.
Although this role will be based in Central London, it will involve travel to other company offices as and when required.
Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business opportunities to meet financial and strategic targets set by the management team. The aim is to execute sales and business development strategies that seek to build long-term profitable business relationships, not just a quick sale!
Communication and the desire and drive to want to build these relationships is what this company is looking for and the required individual must have a passion for business development and have a willingness to contribute to all stages of the sales cycle. There will be a primary focus on lead generation (as you'd expect within all new business roles) however you'll not be without support - they will help you understand the business and ensure that every call you make be it warm or cold, will have a good reason behind it other than trying to sell a product. They don't want someone interested in just closing up a sale, but more someone who sees business development as a way to open doors for the company and data team as a whole. You'll be expected to be involved in all lead qualification and appointments and these will be reflected in your targets.
To make the desired impact in the role you will have proven ability in any sales environment, but experience in data-driven direct marketing solutions would be ideal.
Key Responsibilities:
* You'll be expected to generate and report on a 'healthy' pipeline (defined as genuine opportunities in the short (3 months), medium (4-8 months) and long (9-12 months) term.).
* You'll be expected to develop, qualify and manage the prospect database (ACT) and develop a cold prospecting strategy.
* You'll be someone who is pro-active in their communication with prospects - covering all touch points and utilising existing and new mechanisms for contact, e.g. email / telephone, social media / LinkedIn, newsletters and events.
* You'll contribute to and support the company's event calendar and marketing collateral and make sure you're there to support the pitch process.
Skills & Experience:
* You'll have a grounding in a proven sales experience.
* It would be ideal if you've worked in a relevant marketplace.
* You should have a knowledge or interest in working with data and direct marketing.
* You should have project planning skills - even if this refers back to your last role or university degree
* Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent
* You have to have an excellent command of English and be competent dealing with clients - strong written and verbal skills are a must.
* Skills in Office (Word, Excel and PPT).
Attributes:
* You are someone who is highly results driven.
* You should be methodical in your approach.
* You have good organisation and a process-driven work style.
* You should be engaging in your communication in person and on the phone.
* You are a hands-on team player - you really enjoy working within the team and sharing your knowledge with your colleagues.
* You should be self-motivated and have a real enthusiasm for the company's offerings.
* You should be happy to travel and be away from home when we need you to be.
* Ambition is key - you will have a genuine desire to succeed and grow the business.
This is a superb opportunity to join a leading international organisation offering exceptional long-term career prospects, both in the UK and overseas.
