Engineering Project Manager

Salary: circa 35-40k

39 hour week - (management hours as required - will involve some weekend work covering projects.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the end to end delivery of multiple capital based manufacturing process
(bulk materials handling/feeding/preparation, mixing, depositing, baking, etc), and packaging engineering projects to
specification, time & cost plan, achieving the highest of engineering and professional standards.

Context

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the role will be part of the Engineering Management team. Based at Carlton,
travel to the Stoke and Moreton sites will be required, as determined by business needs.
Key Outputs

Full end to end project management of multiple manufacturing process and packaging based capital projects, including:

* Development of Pipeline of suitable projects, inc. feasibility studies, cost benefit analyses, etc.
* Lead compilation of capital authority request documentation/narrative
* Lead, and engage end users in, development of engineering scope
* Develop functional design specifications in compliance with engineering & Premier specifications.
* Run tender and procurement activity with equipment vendors
* Selection of preferred supplier(s) through robust selection process, inc. application of appropriate contract
* Management of all health and safety aspects of capital projects (e.g. CDM requirements)
* Reporting of project progress: tracking of milestones, activity, priorities, financials
* Ensure compliance at pre-delivery milestones to user acceptance test protocols
* Manage key resource through to project delivery.
* Manage post-delivery process including installation, commissioning, training, etc.
* Deliver to user acceptance criteria

Other:

* Manage and develop instrumentation and control strategy, inc. process control, shop floor data collection.
* Look to develop technology in line with Premier business strategy and partners.
* Provide control systems support to other capital projects (e.g. packaging systems, conveyor systems, etc.).
* Manage and develop key departmental systems/tools (e.g. PROMPT - Capex control process).
