Introduction.

Our client is one of the leading law firms in Hampshire with an excellent reputation for its high quality Private Client team. They have a vacancy for a Private Client Solicitor to join an expanding sector of the firm.

The Role.

Our client is looking for a Private client Solicitor with a minimum of four years recent relevant experience of working as a Private Client Solicitor for a recognised regional or London law firm.

The Private client team within the firm consists of Private Client Property,, Trust and Tax Planning, Probate Services and Court of Protection teams are based in Lymington, Hampshire, but provide Private Client services across all offices, alongside Family and Contentious Probate, which are based in Southampton.

The Private Client Team is looking to recruit an ambitious and able practitioner who can demonstrate skills and experience in this area of legal practice, and a desire to extend those skills and support and further develop this growing, specialised work area.

The current team is at capacity and expansion of the service is an active project. The expansion will initially be in Lymington and then new geographical practice areas.

The work involves:-
Supporting the Private Client team leader.
Manage own caseload of wills, tax and trust matters
Receive lifetime will and LPA instructions
Draft simple and IHT efficient wills and to provide advice on the effective use of trusts in wills
Advise on capital tax mitigation
Advise on all aspects of trust creation, establishment, administration and winding up
Manage post death planning issues
Assist with business development activities and propose new initiatives
Demonstrate considerable experience of Private Client work, particularly Tax and Trusts
Have excellent interpersonal and client handling skills
Have the intellectual ability to handle complex tax and trust issues and manage all aspects in an integrated and holistic manner
Be confident liaising with various parties including Clients, Financial Institutions, Asset holders, HM Revenue and Customs and other Professionals.
Be able to sustain a very high level of attention to detail and still meet deadlines and client expectations
Be IT literate
Be a team player who is also able to work on their own initiative
Be an effective 'Ambassador' for the firm
