My client is a global brand operating in many related power generation industries providing maintenance and repair
services. Very well established and highly reputable, this organisation has a wide range of clients within their
portfolio and provides high levels of customer service and technical support. Due to continued growth and success, we are
currently recruiting for an Offshore Electrical Motor Technician to be based in Aberdeen.
The Role
The purpose of this position is to provide offshore support for electrical motor maintenance and inspection. Reporting
directly to the Offshore Project Manager, you will travel to offshore locations as directed by the Project Team and be
available for work at all times (except when on allowable leave breaks or field breaks). You will also;
* Be familiar with "EX" motor concepts
* Be aware of the requirements for "EX" motor repairs in an offshore location
The Person
The successful candidate will have a technical background with knowledge of "EX" relevant standards and practices for
explosion protected equipment EEXd, EExe, EExp, EExn. You will also be familiar with EX Motor concepts.
In addition to the above, to apply for this role you will ideally have completed an Electrical / Electric Motor Workshop
apprenticeship. In addition you must have or hold;
* Current CompEx Certification
* Completed an AEMT or similar EX training course
* Valid Offshore Survival Certificate
* Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
* Completed MIST Training
Alongside these requirements you will be a time served Electrical Engineer with valid certification and references and be
required to attend relevant permit to work, ISSOW, or online permit training as directed by the Project team prior to
mobilisation. You will also be required to pass the Shell LV/HV ESR course when required.
Naturally, due to the nature of the role, you must be a good team player, hold good competency in Word, Excel packages
and live within a reasonable distance from Dyce.
