Based in the North of UK, the senior Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) Design Engineer will be part of a large and well
established organisation delivering designs to a wide range of customers. Responsibilities will include Switch Mode Power
Supply design (SMPS)/verifying/qualifying, liaising with internal bodies as well as external customers to provide
technical solutions, challenging accepted standards to produce innovative solutions and analysing technologies in line
with development plans for the future.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) and be well versed in
the area of AC-DC converters, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Digital/Analogue control of switching power supplies, high
frequency component selection and magnetic design. Additionally, the successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of
semiconductor components, the ability to utilise schematic capture/PCB layout, knowledge of designing power supplies for
high volume manufacturing and possess a fundamental understanding of Power Conversion.

Although not essential, knowledge of single/3 phase PFC topologies, programming in Assembly/C language and EMC standards
would be a distinct advantage.
