Supply Chain Manager
Gloucester

Supply Chain Manager: A major company are looking to take on a Supply Chain Manager at their site in Gloucester

Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities:
* Manages subordinate teams overseeing major subcontractors or major, critical subcontracted systems.
* Directs and manages all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or
the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system.
* Coordinating subordinate employee selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and
recognition/disciplinary actions.
* Acts as the main focal point to the subcontractor briefs executive management and customer on the status and issues
affecting performance or cost.
* Conducts program reviews with the subcontractor and program office.
* Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make/buy decisions
through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability.
* Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor.
* Establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications. Leads
team normally composed of engineers, quality and procurement personnel.
* Provide subject matter advice and guidance and be responsible for leading all aspects of Supplier Relationship
Management and new supply chain opportunities.
* Interface with suppliers, programme management leads, senior leadership and act as an external spokesperson for the
organisation.
* Be considered an expert in supplier relationship management and will support programme technical personnel as the
escalation point for supply chain management issues.
* Responsible for supplier performance measurement and continuous improvement in the supply chain.

Supply Chain Manager Required Skills:
* Knowledgeable in supplier relationship management tools and techniques.
* Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and the ability to negotiate to fair and reasonable
conclusions
* Demonstrated ability to operate in support of complex SW and leading edge technology domains and have an in-depth
understanding of the National Security market.
* Proven ability to plan under pressure and is pro-active in determining mission needs and prioritizing issues.
* Must possess high personal standards and integrity and inspire ethical procurement principles through the end-to-end
(E2E) supply chain not limited to suppliers, consortium partners, the Programme and the end customer.
* Ability to operate in a delegation rich environment, share risk and responsibilities.

Supply Chain Manager Desired Skills:
* Understanding of industry and company practices in Supply Chain Management.
* Project management background (APMP, PRINCE 2 or MSP certified) beneficial.
* Proven ability to take on project tasks and operate independently to sound conclusions.
* Management of monthly metrics and reporting in support of both programme and the wider business.
