Primary Purpose of the Role
This position provides technical support to sales representatives in the office and out in the field across the entire
EMEA territory. The Sales Engineers act very much as ambassadors for the company. It is important to foster and maintain
a strong relationship with our customers based on trust and mutual respect. The SEs should be seen as the peers of the
contacts we work with at customer organisations.

Principal Relationships
This role requires relationships with the Sales Engineering Manager EMEA (as Line Manager), as well as with the other
members of the SE teams (EMEA and Worldwide), the EMEA Sales Team, Product Management, Technical Support and Professional
Services

Key Tasks
1. Works closely with Sales Teams as a technical consultant for Thales ITS technologies during sales calls, at sales
meetings and at exhibitions across the territory.
2. Builds product demonstration environments.
3. Answers technical questions and conduct demonstrations of Thales products and new features to prospects and existing
customer accounts.
4. Provides technical descriptions and content for proposals in response to RFPs & RFIs.
5. Provides full technical training on Thales-eSecurity Ltd products.
6. Gathers ongoing prospect/customer feedback and related information.
7. Delivers remote and field-based product installations, problem resolution and general technical support.

Technical & Professional Skills
Strong commercial awareness, in addition to a technical background.
The candidate need not be a developer, but an understanding of the software development process and languages such as
Java and C would be relevant.
An understanding of cryptography and its applications in SSL Web Servers, PKI architectures, data encryption, strong
authentication and identity management solutions would be an advantage. The ideal candidate would have at least some
previous exposure to Hardware Security Modules, and integration of 3rd party applications such as databases, directories
and webservers.
