My client is an Asset Management business that designs, implements and manages finance measures to support Small and Medium Size enterprises (SMEs) across the UK. It is the largest single investor in UK Venture Capital funds and also manages significant loan guarantee programmes on behalf of the department for business. Among recent changes, my client has additional responsibility for funds across three Northern regions totalling around 500 million. A tenacious individual is required to join this high profile team to oversee and monitor the performance of these funds. The responsibilities of the role are broad, and require you to have strong analytical skills to digest complex financial information as well as the ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Specific responsibilities include: managing day-to-day relationships with fund operators; carrying out analysis of complex financial information and monthly and quarterly information; management of the process for payment of grant claims by fund operators; planning for the implementation of future SME investment programmes. The position works with a variety of fund operators, regional stakeholders and other investors, therefore individuals are likely to have significant experience of working in a commercial, SME focused fund management or banking environment. You will have a sound ability to interpret financial information. It would also be beneficial to have some exposure to developing or monitoring publicly-supported venture capital and loan funds as well as sound operational knowledge of European regional development fund criteria. The funds are based across the North of England and therefore individuals need to attend regular meetings in these locations and be flexible on travel.
