Technical Design Lead

Location: Wolverhampton area

Salary: 37,000 - 40,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cutting edge FTSE100 company. We are currently recruiting for a Technical
Design Lead to work as part of a fast paced dynamic team who are working to ensure the smooth running of the essential
systems supporting the education system in theUK.

As the Technical Design Lead you will develop strong working relationships with the stakeholders across the education
authorities in your designated areas. Working in a hands on capacity you will ensure that each school has fully defined
their current and future ICT needs and have done so in such a manner that it can be translated into a detailed technical
specification.

Then working closely with internal Capita stakeholders you will work to ensure that these needs are met by delivering
first class solutions that are then implemented and integrated in a smooth and seamless manner.

Key elements of this role include

* Lead and effect the implementation of multiple large complex school solutions, involving the configuration and
delivery of a wide range of equipment, technologies and applications.

* To consult with the allocated School team to define, guide and design the initial school solution.

* To understand the school's long term ICT vision and ensure design supports future aspirations.

* To work with Client and construction partners to ensure all ICT considerations have been factored into the
construction design

* To oversee the implementation of the School ICT solution on site, working closely with the PM, site delivery team and
construction partners as required.

* To competently write customer facing documentation that translates technical designs and solutions into a format
understood by the School team

* To the highest level with an "hands-on" approach - manage, configure, test and install both new and existing complex
solutions as specified, taking full responsibility for the implementation on the customer sites.

Essential skills and experience

* Excellent Microsoft skills both at a client and server level; these include Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Exchange
2007 and higher, Migration Experience Essential..

* Familiar with Microsoft SharePoint and SQL

* Well versed in Active Directory Design and Configuration.

* Excellent networking skills demonstrating experience with HP and/or Cisco equipment both at LAN and WAN network
design levels

* The ability to travel across the region on a daily basis

Desirable skills and experience

* Technical certification and have proven competence in one or more of the following disciplines:-
Microsoft (MCSE); Cisco (CCNA), VMWARE (VCP) or their equivalent.

* The ability to discuss technical matters with non technical colleagues in a clear and concise manner.
