Application Support Manager - Line Management - Java - J2EE -Application developer - Agile - Application development - Crawley, West Sussex, Paying up to £55k + bonus + bens

Applications Support Manager is required by leading Travel Company based in Crawley, West Sussex to manage an application support team comprising of permanent, contract and global resources at various locations. This is an hands on management role that will require from time to time to liaise with both technical and non-technical staff.

I am looking for an experienced Application Support Manager who has
* Strong Line Management experience, ideally gained within a project matrix management environment and ideally experience of managing multi-site or virtual members.
* Comes from an Application development background with a broad knowledge in web technologies, Java & J2EE, spring, Struts, Weblogic, Ant, JSP & Javascript
* Relational database design and development with a good understanding of SQL.
* Strong background in an agile methodology.


As an Application Support Manager your key responsibilities
* To manage and have direct line responsibility for the Application Support Team comprising of permanent, contract and global resources located at various sites.
* Own and manage application related problems handed-off by the Service Desk including diagnostics, estimation of effort to resolve, and routing for problem resolution, to maximise up-time of the application in accordance with SLA's.
* Pro-actively monitor application logs.
* Problem triage - monitoring support queues and assigning support tickets to the relevant skilled members of the Application Support team.


This role would suit an Java & J2EE Application developer who has some line management experience or an Application Support Manager who comes from a Java & J2EE Application Development background and is seeking a new challenge .

My client are a leading travel company who are based in Crawley, West Sussex and are looking to pay up to £55k + excellent Bonus+ massively reduced flights +bens.
