Manage tooling projects from design to completion, either in house or via subcontract. Working within budget and time
scale producing regular progress reports. Raise all paperwork and complete tooling records.
Provide a service in new tooling which conforms to a an agreed concept approved by the relevant team (TDO, Tool Room
Supervisor, Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineering Manager).
Prepare full detailed drawings with tooling manufacture and production methods in mind. Update legacy drawings and
records. Pro.E/Solidworks/NX knowledge.
To work generally in accordance with the relevant quality control procedures, maintaining associated tooling drawing
libraries, tool and gauge databases and documentation in accordance to those procedures.
Ability to analyse issues and design solutions.
Effectively plan, organise and assign resources to ensure that key objectives are being achieved.
Ensure tooling projects are managed to achieve on time delivery to budget at an acceptable standard.
Be flexible in carrying out reasonable tasks delegated by Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Toolmaking apprenticeship
3/5 years post apprenticeship experience with tool design experience.
HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent
Understanding of QA/HSE/Environmental policies.
