Special Products Fitter (Valves)

Established in the heart of England for nearly half a century, my client offers exceptional experience and expertise to end users looking for a high integrity product to provide critical flow solutions in harsh and critical environments such as naval marine (defence) and desalination plants.
The Special Products Fitter is required to maintain the optimal performance of my client's commitment to the delivery of high quality products to their Clients. The Special Products Fitter will proactively support the build, design and development activity in the assembly and testing of special products. To create and add value to the end Customer, the Special Products Fitter will attend site service visits and take part in witness verification visits as and when necessary to provide the highest level of customer service. The Special Products Fitter, will be responsible for facilitating the flow of safe, reliable, accurate and readily available data, to both internal and external customers.
The Special Products Fitter's core function will be (but not limited to, building on the existing knowledge base) to:
*Following stringent safety procedures build, test and certify products to customer requirements
*Provide site support to customers
*Use and service high pressure air test equipment
*Identify and seek to continually improve the processes where possible taking accountability for delivering results
*Effectively interact with and support Production, Development and Engineering teams to maintain product supply and in the introduction of new products
This fantastic opportunity will be predominantly factory based, although there will be the need to travel both nationally and internationally and as such a full and clean driving licence is essential, as is a valid UK Passport.
Ideal candidates will have completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and will ideally have progressed to HNC/HND level. You will have gained at least two years experience in an assembly, test and commissioning environment, specifically within the Valves and Actuators manufacturing sector, therefore having significant experience in the use of high pressure air systems and their testing. You will be familiar with Quality Assurance procedures, the Inspection and acceptance testing of components and subsystems and also have the capability to utilise Conventional Machining equipment, i.e: milling or turning.
