Introduction:
My client is one of the UK's leading support services companies. They deliver many key services including design, build,
manage, operate and maintaining assets, dealing with companies both in the UK and overseas, supplying customers in a wide
variety of industry sectors including Defence, Marine, Naval, MoD, Nuclear, Communications, Energy and Transportation.
They now require a Military Comms Engineer to be based at their site in Penrith, Cumbria.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well
suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Royal Signals, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force
(RAF) and has previously worked within a similar role. Communications / Systems / Radio Engineer / Techncian's are also
strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 24 x 7 engineering support for a range of radio services
within the transmission station ranging from installation and maintenance through to repair of equipment.
- This post provides engineering expertise for these services and also a 24 hour shift requirement.
- As part of the engineering team to maintain cost effective performance and operations of all broadcast/communications
equipment to agreed standards and Key Performance Indicators.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and reactive maintenance.
- Fault find down to component level and rectify faults or replace parts as needed.
- Test equipment and ensure that the equipment is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Liaising with customers to ensure that the radio equipment is working reliably and advising of any calibration needs to
improve on products.
- Liaising with other engineers and management.
- Complete necessary paperwork involved.
- Ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- You will be dealing with a variety of radio communications equipment used within the military so working 'hands on'
knowledge is absolutely essential for this role.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must hold a minimum of HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering.
- It is essential that you have a strong working background within electronic, electrical, IT, R.F. and power
engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current safe working practices and safety procedures.
- Basic workshop skills including hand and power tools.
- Practical experience of transmitter station operation and maintenance work.
- A full UK driving licence.
- You need to be very customer focussed.

- Ability to work using own initiative.
- Openness and Honesty.
- Flexible in regards to working hours as this role will involve working shifts.
