Job Description
My client based in Leeds are looking to recruit several Java developers on a permanent basis. The role of a Java Developer is to design, implement software code, exploiting leading software development tools. With high quality and delivery standards, a Java Developer must consistently deliver quality code on time and within estimate. Working within a development team from given software specifications you must also have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and to strict deadlines.
Requirements
Significant experience of Java Software development using the breadth of the JEE toolkit (JSF, JSP, Servlets, Facelets, EJB, JDBC). Experience of JEE application servers such as Glassfish and Weblogic Experience of Frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate Experience of test driven development using JUnit or Solenium Experience of working with RDBMS databases, ideally Oracle Experience or an understanding of working on three-tier systems is essential Experience of dealing with large volumes of data Previous use of code management tools such as Perforce The Ability to focus on completing tasks productively The Ability to produce innovative solutions to problems
Responsibilities
To design large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools. To demonstrate high productivity of design, code and unit test To take part in reviews of your own work and to lead reviews of colleagues' work. To be recognized as the expert and point of contact for at least one key software component or technology. To nurture and guide the technical ability of lower grade Software Developers. To provide project based support to the Build CM Engineer to manage software builds. Shepherds all development activity through the development lifecycle paying particular care to ensure that all quality processes, gates and controls are followed.
