2012 is an exciting year for Mller as we continue to innovate and introduce new products.
Operations Accountant cuts across the functions of Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain, providing decision support
in line with business strategy and managing information covering material cost development, co-packing costs, material
usage, product costing and factory efficiency.
Ensuring basic financial discipline across the key financial processes of month end, forecasting and budgeting are core
to this role, as is the ability to build strong, effective relationships with business partners whilst also having a real
desire to drive business financial performance and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities:
* Accountable for providing expert understanding of material price, recipe and usage development and giving financial
validation of milk and co-packing sourcing decisions.
* Driving the focus on material losses in the factory.
* Input in to Capex planning and product costing development.
* Working with Production Management teams to identify and minimise raw material losses.
* Ownership for the reporting of raw material losses and development of the reporting. Develop processes to allow
weekly losses management. Implement weekly review cycle.
* Support the project to implement SAP PP PI and managing the information flows before implementation.
* Effective management of month end cost of sales reporting by owning the soon to be implemented BW suite of automated
reports. Explaining development to forecast and validating cost movements and working with Commercial Accountants to
highlight impact on product and brand profitability.
* Quarterly forecasting of material and bought in finished good costs developments through the BW reports available,
highlighting commodity trends and impact of fluctuating exchange rates. Again linking with Commercial team to
highlight impact on brand and product profitability.
* Working with Milk Procurement team driving best cost decision and minimising impact of fluctuating requirements.
* Accountability for financial integrity of Cost Engineering initiatives, including initial 'project' saving potential
and tracking of actual savings versus target. Including recipe substitutions and initiatives to reduce product cost,
evaluation of material substitution, trigger points for decisions.
* Implement reporting around energy price development and benchmark with the market.
* Validation of suppliers' explanation for Material cost movements, support product pricing changes (Customer Price
Increases), building relationship with Central Buying team.
* Support the development of product costing within Muller. In particular provide insight and challenge around the
understanding of cost drivers and allocation methodologies.
Qualifications:
CIMA qualified or part-qualified (support provided for continuing study).
Experience of working within an SAP system environment, ideally using BW and CO-PC.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in providing decision support to Operations, Supply Chain and Purchasing functions.
* Proven experience working with SAP, ideally CO- PC and BW.
* Communication skills, able to summarise financial information to non-finance Managers to drive correct business
decisions.
* Ability to manage to strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
