An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie/Commis Chef to join a vibrant family run restaurant and hotel in
Edwinstowe. The hotel is a warm and homely environment with a fantastic reputation. We are looking for a motivated and
hard working individual with enthusiasm and a good attitude to work alongside the team of chefs. You will be working with
the finest and freshest ingredients to produce food of the highest standard and you will be required to prepare, cook and
present dishes on the restaurant's a la carte menu. This is the ideal role for someone looking to move up the career
ladder within a prestigious company!
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
*Some experience working in a kitchen in a high quality/highly esteemed restaurant
*Chef de Partie/Commis Chef experience and working with good quality a la carte food in a similar environment is a great
advantage
*Qualifications in catering, such as an NVQ, BTEC Diploma or similar would be advantageous
*Ability to work quickly and efficiently
*Attention to detail
*Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
*Ability to learn on your feet, absorb training and put your lessons into practice straight away
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Ensure the kitchen is a clean, efficient and high quality food service in line with the expectations of customers and
management
*Set up work stations, prepare, cook and present menu items for service
*Coordinate with other teams members the correct quality, appearance and portion size of each dish
*Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes so that only those that meet the restaurant's high standards are served
to customers
*Ensure communication between all stations and the restaurant is efficient
*Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained by following cleaning routines
*Comply with the regulations of COSSH, Health and Safety at Work Act, Food Hygiene Regulations and Food Safety Acts to
ensure quality, legal and operational compliance
*Maintain a friendly, helpful and courteous relationship with staff and customers.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
*6.08 per hour negotiable depending on experience
*20 days holiday
*50% discount on all meals
WORKING HOURS: You will be required to be flexible with your working hours to ensure the restaurant is covered and
fully-functional at all times. Hours of service are between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. 7 days per week. Working hours are
40-60 hours per week. You will get a total of 2 days off per week, which could be 2 full days or 4 half days. An example
day may be 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and then 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Working hours and shifts can be discussed at
interview.
