Our client has a requirement for a software engineer to work as part of the development team producing LTE products. Experience of development and testing on the physical layer is essential. Layer 1 expertise preferred.

Purpose of Role

The Platform Group PHY development team develops Physical Layer software for the clients product set. Most of the development work is done in C/ C++ in an embedded environment although there is some PC development required to provide an application programming interface.

A hands-on development role working in the team involved in the design and development of Platform Group PHY software.

Duties & Responsibilities

> Development in embedded C/C++
> Development of LTE PHY
> Development and integration test of the lower level software
> Analysis of LTE/3G specifications
> Work within the software development methodology used in the Platform Group

Essential Skills

> Very good mathematical background
> Proven commercial full-lifecycle software development experience
> Development experience with DSPs
> Embedded software development experience
> Practical experience with, and knowledge of, the LTE or 3G Layer1 interface
> Experience in developing complex, numerically-oriented algorithms and systems on a modern DSP
> Knowledge/familiarity with radio telecommunications standard (such as LTE, W-CDMA, WiMAX etc)
> Experience with standard code management and defect tracking tools
