The Role
The post is for an initial fixed term until 30th June 2013 for maternity cover and there will be an initial 3 month
probationary period.
Reporting to the Head of Management Information, the Management Information Analyst has a key role within the
organisation providing Management Information to all levels of the management. Management information is a vital
component of the business and is used to make informed decisions to ensure our continued success.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Retrieve data from our in-house databases using T-SQL
* Providing high quality internal data analysis and management reporting to management using the below packages.
* Excel
* SSRS
* Crystal Reports
* Managing the expectations of multiple internal stakeholders, in a fast moving environment where short-notice requests
are common.
* Understanding the organisation, in order to interpret high-level requests.
* Analysing and reviewing management information and where appropriate, offering commentary on identified trends and
anomalies.
* Reviewing and further developing the format, delivery and analysis of existing management information reporting to
make the decision process easier.
* Understanding the multiple sources of business information to enable creation of new reports and modification of
existing reports.
* Being competent in the use of multiple software applications in order to extract data, analyse it and present the
results with considered conclusions.
* Communicating directly with internal stakeholders, using email, telephone and at meetings to ensure reporting
requirements delivered.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
* Previous Analyst Experience
* Advanced MS Excel skills
* Experience of using SQL/T-SQL
* Understanding of databases
* Ability to identify key metrics from large datasets
* Excellent organisational skills and superior attention to detail
* Ability to deliver accurate information to strict deadlines
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities/workload
* Drive for self improvement
* Ability to identify problems and provide effective solutions
* Experience of SSRS and knowledge of scripting language (VBA/VB.Net) advantageous
