Transmission Design Engineer
Berkshire
A leading Telecommunications company is looking for a Transmission Design Engineer to join its Berkshire based team on a permanent basis.
The Transmission Design Engineer will:
*Responsible for production of technical designs across existing transmission platforms including DWDM, SDH, ATM and Ethernet to fulfil project requirements
*Attend customer requirement meetings
*Provide technical review and impact analysis of customer transmission requirements
*Perform principle design work and planning to meet initial project approvals
*Utilise the ATM modelling tool Nortel Net Calc Data Planner
*Specify and perform verification testing of vendor equipment
The Transmission Design Engineer will have:
*Knowledge of SDH, DWDM, ATM and IP/Ethernet transport technologies
*High level and detailed level transmission design work
*Experience of managing and implementing complex transmission networks.
*Knowledge of capacity modelling tools such as Nortel Net Calc Data Planner
*Experience working with transmission equipment from Nortel, Alcatel and Huawei
