Due to continued success, my Cambridgeshire based client, a specialist provider of IT security solutions is looking for a keen and ambitious Senior Sales Account Manager to join their growing, friendly team.
You will be working in the government sector, primarily with local city/borough councils etc., and will initially spend a lot of time in the field, meeting with clients and prospects to maximise/begin successful business relationships.
You will work closely with the Sales Account Manager and support team to maximise the potential in this extremely busy sector.
First and foremost you will be an experienced and self-motivated technical sales professional, with an organised, consultative approach to generating new business opportunities, a good understanding of relevant markets and be capable of developing business right from personal prospecting to closure, with a clear understanding of deadlines and targets.
Main Duties
* Managing existing customer relationships and introducing new products and services
* Mentoring of existing sales team
* Developing new customer business
* Maintaining the customer and prospect database
* Maintaining excellent relationships with all key suppliers
* Defining which customers and prospects to engage with
Experience and skills
Essential:
* Demonstrable track record of working in a new-business environment
* Proven success in technical sales, preferably within the IT sector
* Willingness to prospect for your own business
* Experience of developing and monitoring business and account plans
* Proven managerial responsibility of a sales team
* Experience of working to specific targets and KPIs
* Experience of developing mutually beneficial relationships with customers
* Fluent grammatical and numeracy skills - for accurate customer communications
Desirable:
* Understanding of the IT Security market
* Experience of sales procedures within a high-volume business
* Recognised formal sales or business qualification
* Public Sector sales experience (councils, fire, police etc.)
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Be persuasive and able to exercise strong negotiation skills
* Have strong planning and organisational skills
* Be tenacious
