Desktop Optimisation - Application Factory Lead, Global Consultancy, London(Job Number: 13050)

Description

The Desktop Optimisation solution group focus on the design, installation and configuration of advanced workspace
solutions comprising of physical desktop infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), application
virtualisation. The group supports operational and deployment solutions to manage enterprise class end-user computing
environments based on the Microsoft platform.

Avanade has a Global Delivery Network that offers Application Packaging Services to support enterprise Desktop
Transformation project, and a number of assets to manage on-shore/off-shore workflows for such programmes.

Avanade are looking to recruit a team lead with experience of the management of application packaging and sequencing
teams on large scale projects. The role requires the development of Avanade's Application Factory capability, both
developing on-shore expertise and improving on-shore/off-shore interaction and workflows where the GDN Application
Factory is used.

This position is client facing, requiring consulting and presentation skills and work on projects of medium size and
large complexity.

Experience of the following is required:

- Technical experience of application packaging and sequencing and supporting toolsets such as Flexera AdminStudio and
Wyse Package manager
- Team management of application packaging/sequencing projects
- Enterprise Software Deployment (ESD) solutions

Candidate must also have knowledge of core Microsoft infrastructure technologies on the Windows Server 2003 or Windows
Server 2008 platforms and Active Directory. In addition the candidate must be proficient in one of more of the following
technical areas;

- Microsoft Application Virtualisation Infrastructure
- System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Third-party Enterprise Software Distribution Tools (eg Altiris, Novadigm Radia)
