We are looking for a Principal Engineer (Materials and corrosion) with 15+ years' experience who will provide technical
support for all corrosion and metallurgical related issues. We are looking for a long term addition to our team on a
permanent basis.

There are three main aspects to this role:

1. You will bring the ability to lead technical work on materials and corrosion and will be credible as a subject
matter expert in front of clients

2. You will build a team of materials and corrosion engineers, leading and training them

3. You will act as a rainmaker, generating interest from clients and supporting our sales team in gaining new business

Typical tasks include:

* Leading the technical credibility to our customers and the wider materials and corrosion community

* Materials selection for green field design and brown field modifications

* Corrosion assessment and management

* Coating selection and rectification

* Assisting in the preparation and communication of the quarterly and annual corrosion review reports

* Maintaining installation corrosion monitoring and mitigation policies

* Developing and checking new methodologies for engineering assessment

* Understanding the limitations of engineering standards and being prepared to justify working outside these standards

* Ensuring that material failure investigation and root cause analysis are carried out where necessary and that any
implication with respect to integrity is reported accordingly

* Preparing and checking engineering calculations, particularly on Excel and Mathcad

* Revising inspection strategies with respect to corrosion related issues

* Writing reports, specifications and procedures

* Checking reports, specifications and procedures

* Preparing and making outstanding presentations to clients on work done

* Providing challenge and review for design reviews meetings

* Using proprietary software packages

* Championing the QMS and suggesting improvements and undertaking quality audits

* Providing expert consultancy at clients' offices

* Providing technical leadership to all staff

* Inputting into development of courses

* Evaluating feedback and planning improvements

Skills

Essential

* Write and speak English clearly and fluently

* Basic IT literacy

Desirable

* Driving licence

Qualifications

Essential:

* 15+ years' experience in subsea engineering, with majority in subsea materials and corrosion

* Degree/post graduate qualification in a relevant technical or science discipline

Desirable:

* Extensive experience in a subsea materials and corrosion engineering environment and relevant experience within the
offshore oil and gas production industry

* Ability to use initiative and direct and guide other team members

* Strong interpersonal/client facing skills

* Report writing experience with strong attention to detail

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to use bespoke databases

* Chartered engineer, member or fellow of an engineering institution (or working towards)
