CCNP Senior Network Engineer

My client a leading IT Network Integrator requires a Senior CCNP Engineer to design, implement, support and maintain the IT infrastructure in line with the IT strategy, project plans and service level agreements. Performing all operational tasks to provide 24/7, 365 day IT services to customers provided in line with agreed service level agreements.

Key Result Areas
*Work closely with the customer as part of a project to ensure that business requirements are met through the development of new/enhanced business systems.
*Translate business requirements into IT infrastructure solutions in line with customer's requirements.
*Design, build and configure IT infrastructure solutions to meet the customer's business requirements in line with the IT strategy, policies and procedures.
*Implement IT infrastructure solutions according to agreed Project Plan.
*Lead virtual teams to deliver solutions in accordance with business requirements and project plans.
*Produce relevant IT infrastructure documentation to enable the infrastructure to be maintained.
*Carry out root cause analysis to identify underlying problems, prevent reoccurrence and provide cost effect service to the business.
*Provide first point of contact for co-location customers, providing the necessary connection and customer access, offering high level of customer service.
*Provide 3rd line support for technical help desk, providing technical advice to assist in the resolution of customer problems

Experience
*Extensive IT infrastructure implementation/support experience
*Experience of IT infrastructure design.
*Good experience of working in a Unix/Microsoft environment.
*In-life network management.
*Facilitate network 'adds', 'removes' and changes as required.
*Provide consultancy to internal business units on pre-sales matters
*Provide support on the core infrastructure and subscriber aggregation platforms
*Take part in an on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support as required.
*Be prepared to carry out engineering tasks, upgrades and customer changes
*Formal Cisco Systems training/qualification. CCIP/CCNP required. CCIE level knowledge
*Experience of writing operational instructions.
*Detailed understanding of:
LAN (802.1q, 802.1ad, 802.1s, 802.1ax)
OSPF operations and configuration.
BGP operations and configuration.
MPLS Layer 3 and Layer 2 VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
Internet transit, peering and relationships.
L2TP, VPDN
Fault investigation and rectification.
Firewalls
*Broad understanding of: OSI seven layer model.

Location: Brighton
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits
