As a registered charity with over 100 years' experience, our client provides exceptional education, therapy, support and life skills development to individuals with epilepsy and complex learning disabilities.
"Where do you want to go?" This is the first question they ask the learners who come to them for tailored Education & Life Skills programmes. As a specialist education provider, they enhance the skills and life options of young people and adults with autism, epilepsy, learning difficulties and other disabilities. They currently have the following opportunity for talented individuals who will help their learners achieve their goals, widen their horizons and make life an experience to be enjoyed.
Due to internal promotion they currently have a vacancy for a Work Experience Co ordinator.
Within this role you will listen to the voice of the learner to identify their career aspirations and source appropriate placements as required. You will support both students and support staff, ensuring that they are appropriately resourced and an induction is completed. You will act as the link person between students, parents, employers and the College and will monitor and collate evidence to demonstrate student progress.
You will have responsibility for the health and safety of the work placements and will complete, review and update risk assessments when required. Taking responsibility for the leadership and management of a team of support staff, you will actively seek out and promote new and innovative methods of service delivery within your designated area of responsibility. On a day to day basis you will take on an Operational Manager role which involves allocating staffing and debriefing cover staff when required.
With excellent operational and proven people management skills the successful candidate will have working knowledge of work experience placements. You must possess a recognised teaching qualification, a level 4 qualification and have an understanding of the rights and needs of people with a learning disability and knowledge of the education and care sector.
