Teacher of Science required for September 2012

Parkwood Academy is a highly respected and supportive specialist language and sports academy based in the north of Sheffield, easily accessible from the M1/ A1 motorway network. We moved into our state of the art building over Easter 2012: As well as serving a practical purpose, the new buildings and facilities at Parkwood Academy have been designed to inspire the pupils and staff who use them.

As a new academy (we opened in 2009) with a sponsor committed to social enterprise, we are at the early stages of the journey in becoming a world class academy serving a very special community.

Our standards are improving and our expectations are high!

We are seeking to appoint a strong teacher of Science to join a department that is going from strength to strength. We believe in delivering exciting and engaging lessons, bringing school Science to life whilst linking it to real world problems and look for teachers who can do the same.

There is a key focus on enabling students and instilling in them a passion for Science, exploring the role and influence of Science in today's society. The Academy is a "high energy" and rewarding place to work and staff working here can see the positive impact they make on young people. We have a strong belief that if students enjoy learning, they will achieve at a high level.
