Our client is a Designer and Developer of High Technology, Software/Electronics, Systems and products for a range of
critical systems sectors.

The engineering department is organised into 'Skill Groups' of engineers. We are currently seeking an experienced
Electronic Hardware Engineer to lead the Hardware Engineering Skills Group.

The role will be to lead and manage the Hardware Engineering Skill Group by ensuring that the staff have:

The tools and processes required.
Are supported and provided with opportunities for professional development.
Are utilised and allocated effectively across the Capability Areas.

This role reports to the Engineering Director.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Tools and Processes
Define, provide and maintain the tools and processes required by the Hardware Engineering Skill Group.
Ensure the Company Management System is updated to reflect best practice, current tools and processes identified.

Professional Development
Ensure all staff in the Hardware Engineering Skill Group are provided with:-

Professional Development Plans
Professional Mentoring and ongoing support
An annual appraisal identifying training and development needs

Resourcing
Ensure there is a plan to meet the businesses resource needs and skills mix.
Ensure effective utilisation of all staff within the Hardware Engineering Skill Group.
Support projects in terms of identifying and allocating/re-allocating resources across Capability Areas.

Measures of Performance:-

Develop and Maintain common process and tool-sets
Appraisal completion
Execution of Professional Development Plans
Effective utilisation of Resources
Staff engagement and satisfaction
