We currently have a fantastic SEN Teaching Assistant job opportunity in a mainstream London Secondary School in the West London area. We are seeking a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant with proven relevant experience and skills to fulfil the role.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this West London School, you would be working collaboratively with Subject Teachers supporting pupils, of all abilities in groups and/or on an individual basis.
There is also a provision of students with Learning Difficulties, including those with Statements of Special Educational Needs (SEN), where you will be required to deliver additional support to overcome difficulties that are hindering their learning and development.
The suitable candidate must be a role model for Secondary aged children from multi-cultural backgrounds and encourage promoting a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop an understanding of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) of the student/s concerned
- Take into account the student/s' special needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials
- Build and maintain successful relationships with students
- Promote independent learning and to help reinforce learning
- Build motivation
- Assist students with physical needs
- Conduct meetings with teachers to contribute to planning lessons / activities
- Report on progress of identified pupils
- Support the SEN Leader in implementing specific teaching programmes
- Supervise practical tasks and work in small groups
