A great long term temporary opportunity has arisen for School Office Manager/Bursar in West Lancashire, who can provide administrative and financial support to the School. This role is full time to cover a maternity leave and is to start in April.
Working as a School Office Manager means you will need to combine your administration/finance experience and SIMS/FMS knowledge to support the school office, ensure smooth running of the office and organise day-to-day activities.
Specific responsibilities include:
-Responsibility for ensuring accurate monitoring of budgetary expenditure throughout the year.
-Operating the schools financial procedures in accordance with statutory guidelines, Financial Regulations, School and Education Departmental Policy and Practice.
-Understand the implications of the Data Protection act and other legislation to ensure confidentiality of records and information is maintained.
-Responsibility for establishing contacts with a variety of outside suppliers of goods or services, the receipting of goods and invoice processing.
-Responsibility for collecting and reconciling school monies and providing statistical information as required.
-Managing the petty cash account and School Fund account.
-Responsibility for maintenance of staff absence and arranging supply cover for absent staff.
-Responsibility for administering schools admissions procedures and accurately maintaining the pupil related information system.
-Liaising with staff for organising school visits, camps and extra curricular activities.
-Managing other clerical staff within school and administration of employment contracts.
Skills and Experience:
-Experience of senior administrative/office management roles, preferably in a school
-Detailed knowledge and experience of financial procedures and FMS systems
-High level of interpersonal and communication skills
-Sound IT skills, including Microsoft Office and SIMS
