17.14 per hour approx 20 cases

Our client is looking for qualified Horticulture Assessors to ensure students progress and successfully complete their
QCF Certificate/Diploma programmes.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* To deliver a planned programme of training toward assessment and verification for Work Based Learners.
* To strengthen and develop training links with employers.
* To deliver training, assessment and verification programme for Work
* Based Learners meeting curriculum quality and industry standards and to take responsibility as Course Manager where
appropriate.
* To develop and deliver a programme of individual training plans for Work Based Learning, Personal Learning and Thinking
Skills and bespoke programmes ensuring an effective induction, training and assessment programme.
* To deliver a planned programme of instruction to students and clients in practical training.
* To liaise with and visit employers to ensure that industry standards and requirements are maintained including visiting
and assessing students in the workplace.
* To carry out initial interview and assessment activities with potential students and employers.
* To support the development of comprehensive employer engagement strategies, respond to customer enquiries, briefing
employers and interviewing potential learners.
* To maintain records in respect of learning outcomes, ILPs, tutorial tracking, assessment feedback, and learning
management.
* To actively contribute to the quality improvement and internal verification strategy and plans to ensure that the
provision is robust, demonstrates excellence in all we do and supports the aspirations of all stakeholders
* To ensure the safe, correct and effective use of all resources, equipment and machinery.
* To participate in the development and conduct of employer led training, demonstration and practical activities.
* To support the development and maintenance of the college's practical resources within the area of specialist
expertise, assisting in seasonal operations and activities to meet quality standards.
* To maintain Health and Safety statutory regulations, meeting agreed standards at all times.
* To assist at College open days, careers events, industry and public events as required

Essential Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* A1 and A2 Assessor Awards or their equivalent D32/33
* Evidence of Key Skills (Number, Communication and IT) to level 2 standard e.g. GCSE / O Level
* Experience of working or managing in the industry sector relevant to the award being verified.
* Experience of supervising learners
* Excellent time management skills - able to meet deadlines, respond positively to a changing, fast-moving work
environment and be flexible in approach
* Possession of a current driving licence

Desirable Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

* Verifier award
* Teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd or 7407)
* Relevant professional qualifications and experience
* Awareness of developments in the fields of e-learning and information and learning technologies
* Awareness of current vocational developments within the sector
* Teaching experience within vocational sector
* First Aid Certificate

Hourly rate: 15.84, Holiday Pay: 1.30
Total Rate: 17.14
Meeting Rate: 8.57
