A Passion For... Holiday Workshops are our exciting and pioneering new courses that will be running at 14 of our venues this year! The programmes are written by our team of experts and are designed to bring the most out of children and teenagers aged 6-16.

As an A Passion For...Food Course Leader you will be helping children to prepare a wide variety of recipes by demonstration and assistance, closely following the training guidelines of our course developer, Splat Cooking. Along with leading the workshop you may also be required to support a small team of quality, enthusiastic staff. You will report to the Site Manager and with guidance take a lead in running the day to day operations of the week long workshops, description of responsibilities as follows:

* Ensure you and your team adhere to processes and procedures whilst the children in your care continually have a fun, stimulating and safe time
* Utilise your passion about cooking bringing the topic to life with lots of fun in the process
* With support and guidance from your Site Manager liaise with parents regarding the needs of children and feedback on any issues which arise
* Support the Site Manager during sign in/out of children and other adhoc duties as required
* Continually show respect for your Host site by ensuring cleanliness and safety at all times

Requirements

* Ideally you will be a qualified or trainee Food Technology teacher, although non-teachers with suitable experience will be considered
* Experience working with children and young people
* Hold a first aid qualification (Ideally)
* Be passionate about cooking and to be very confident in the kitchen, and to be able to bring the topic to life with lots of fun in the process
* Enthusiastic and organised with excellent communication skills and good use of initiative
* Flexible, team player willing to take on various tasks as required

If selected you will be required to attend a training day covering; A Passion For...ethos, policies and procedures and structure of the day. Health and Safety are of particular significance for this course, and hence you will be required to attend the Food Hygiene training day as well as the Central Training Day, regardless of your previous experience.

Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm (Monday to Friday)
Location/duration: Temporary contracts at various sites within a region - up to 5 weeks work
On appointment all staff will be expected to complete a CRB disclosure and supply us with references
