Senior Mission Systems Software Developer
Bedfordshire

Senior Mission Systems Software Developer : A well known Defence sector Engineering organisation is currently looking to recruit a Mission Systems Software Developer at their site in Bedfordshire.

Senior Mission Systems Software Developer Key Responsibilities:
* Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
* Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
* Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
* Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
* Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
* Ensures software standards are met.

Senior Mission Systems Software Developer Qualifications and Experience:
* Embedded software development.
* Evidence of capabilities in software engineering.
* Proven and demonstrable evidence of capabilities in C and Object Oriented Development
* Appreciation of Systems Engineering.
* Knowledge of disciplines outside software for example: electronic hardware, mechanical engineering, human factors.
* Strong oral and written communication skills

Desirable Experience:
* Experience using IBM Doors and Rhapsody
* Knowledge and familiarity with test tools (e.g. LDRA, Parasoft)
* Knowledge of Real - Time Operating Systems (e.g. Greenhills, QNX, VxWorks)
* Experience of waterfall and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
* Knowledge of UML would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of vetronics standards and protocols eg. CanBUS, GVA, Def Stan 00-82, Time Triggered Ethernet, DDS.
* Knowledge of digital video standards. Experience with GPGPU standards eg. CUDA, OpenCL.
