Business Analyst - SAP IS Oil - Australia
500-580 per day (depending on the exchange rate), Perm option also available

3-6 month position initially (expected to last a year plus), Aus visa will be taken care of. Interviews will be done in the UK

Position Summary
The Business Analyst we are looking for will be familiar with Oil (Integrity / asset management) both upstream and downstream

Overall Role Purpose:
* Determining all aspects of the high level requirements definition, by interviewing key stakeholders, reviewing documentation, and applying industry understanding to identify and document key business issues and requirements within Asset Management, and associated areas, in a hydrocarbon environment (Integrity mgmt, work-force mgmt and logistics).

* Develop a thorough understanding of the clients' business and be able to analyse and document their requirements including functions, processes and workflows in the area of Asset Management - integrity mgmt, work-force mgmt and logistics.

* Analyse and document requirements including detailed use cases, domain modelling, functional specifications, and interface design, by liaising with a range of key stakeholders, drawing together requirements from across the organisation.

* Provide training and mentoring for the other team members in the best practice of analytical techniques and application of the agreed Solution Delivery Life Cycle.

* Work closely with the QA team members to ensure that solutions meet agreed AM requirements and to ensure that the solutions are fully tested.

*Assisting Project Managers and business representatives in the development of the Business Cases and Investment Decision presentations within the AM space.

* Typical Outputs and Deliverables: AM business cases, high-level and detailed requirements definition, process modelling and mapping, solution selection and assessment, feasibility studies, testing and training materials.

Competencies & Experience
MANDATORY
* Applicants should have at least 5+ years of experience in the IT Consulting, Business Consulting or Engineering industry with the last 2 years working in the role of Business Analyst, ideally in supply chain, maintenance or asset management domain.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively with a range of personnel at all levels of a company, including the ability to simplify complex system and process concepts and creativity in communication.

* A proven ability to develop positive working relationships with both internal and external clients.

* Good understanding of business needs and customer focus beyond the pure technical and technology aspects.

* Ability to gain thorough understanding of complex business & technical problems quickly. Fast start-up and ability to quickly identify and resolve key issues.

* Ability to analyse, develop and implement processes.

* Exceptional analysis and investigation skills and ability to focus on detail and precision.

* Ability to tracking business requirements throughout the project life cycle to ensure all requirements are met.

* Ability to facilitate workshops.
* Ability to construct a business case and use basic financial modelling techniques.


DESIRABLE
* Demonstrated experience in delivering applications, technology and business processes, and change management in preferably Oil and Gas domain (Resources or industrial or manufacturing domains will be considered).

* Strong knowledge of leading Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks and processes.

* Experience in the development of business analysis deliverables e.g. business case, feasibility study, requirements definition.

* Highly effective communication skills with an ability to explain complex issues and concepts

* Substantial experience liaising with business units / stakeholders to gather and define business requirements

* Experience in all elements of business analysis, including: requirements gathering and documentation, process modelling, analysis and re engineering, development of business solution description including high level and detail design.

* Experience with: project management, change management, business process reengineering and process modelling methodologies

* Providing education and training to business users on newly implemented solutions and processes, including development and documentation of training material

* Understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts and frameworks

* Experience and understanding of the usage of data modelling and architecture modelling tools (e.g. ARIS, rational etc)

* Excellent at engaging and dealing with people at all levels in an organization, up to C level i.e. CIO, CFO.
