Leading Leeds firm currently seeking an 2+ year PQE Banking Litigation / Finance Litigation Solicitor to join their successful team.

The successful Banking Litigation / Finance Litigation Solicitor will undertake a mixed caseload of Lender litigation, including professional negligence, mortgage fraud investigation and general banking litigation.

The successful candidate will carry their own caseload under supervision and will work with more senior fee-earners on more complex matters. They will require:

Legal skills, including
o Analysis of facts to advise on the best legal options
o Understanding of the routes a dispute may follow and the remedies available
o Understanding and knowledge of CPR
o Research into specific legal areas

Communication skills including the ability to present legal advice and information clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing for the purposes of:
o Meetings with clients alone and with other fee-earners
o Advising and reporting to clients
o Dealings with, and presenting the clients case to, opponents and their solicitors
o Dealings with other interested parties such as experts, counsel, the courts etc.
o Drafting internal notes and memoranda

Drafting, for example
o Applications to court
o Witness statements
o Orders
o Letters of advices and letters before claim

Commercial skills, including
o Business Development
o Client care including engagement letters, costs advice etc
o File management
o Time management, time recording and keeping accurate file notes of all work carried out
o Diary management
o Preparing bills and Credit control
o Event organisation (including team events)
