Placing Leaders are a specialist Recruitment Company, recruiting Professionals within the faade and fenestration
industry - ie. Curtain Walling, Glazing, Structural Glass and Cladding.

Our client are looking to recruit a Commercial Estimator based at their offices in the West Yorkshire region.

You will be responsbile for carrying out estimating and negotiating of commercial window, door and curtain walling
projects to enable the company to win tenders and quotation's whilst remaining profitable.

Duties are as follows;

" Produce profitable tenders/quotations from Architects drawings and specifications to Main Contractors, Councils and
Social Landlords and others
" Detailed Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions
" Electronic estimating packages from First Degree Window Designer and Orgadata Logikal.
" Ability to source alternative and less expensive materials for specific contracts whilst maintaining quality and
delivery requirements
" Obtain quotes for Sub-Contract services 'Auto Hardware' 'Glass' 'Design Work'
" Transfer costs to in house Excel template Build up sheets, discussing with management on overall project agreeing rates
on site attendance's, Installation costs and profitability.
" Compose detailed quotation's to forward to clients with drawings
" Evaluate sales leads for alternative companies (Main Contractors) at tender stage to increase success rate
" Maintain and record tender details to database
" Develop and maintain relationships with key customers
" Answer Technical questions and offer Value Engineering solutions when necessary
" Carry out negotiations with Main Contract Quantity Surveyors and offer value engineering ideas to maintain
profitability of project
" Attend pre-starts, design and on-going contract meetings where required
" Contract up successful winning tenders and create detailed contract files to forward to Contracts Manager to include
project costs, specifications, payment terms ect
" Produce target/special costs items to buying department
" Price variation items specific to your project


Candidate Criteria must have experience

" Estimator in Commercial Glazing Sector Aluminium & or PVC
" Experience with Main Contractors, sealed tenders, electronic submissions
" Computerised estimating
" Architectural drawings, building regulation knowledge with ability to calculate windloads, inertia values, acoustic
glazing, u-values ect
" General Construction industry knowledge ie. Scaffolding/access/types of construction
" Experience in sales, current market climate and forces
" Technical Knowledge on Systems and Glass
" Proficient with Microsoft software/general IT literacy
" Good Communication skills


Salaries are in the region of 18-25k + 20 days holiday + bank holidays
