One Wish Lottery was established under North East Hospice's Lotteries and was first drawn in 1998. Since then, One Wish has successfully raised more than £4million to help support the services of Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland, St Benedict's Hospice in Sunderland, St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham and St Teresa's Hospice in Darlington. Proceeds from One Wish are shared equally amongst the four hospices to continue to provide the free-of-charge care to the communities they serve.

We are looking for someone with an interest in supporting NEHL and the Hospice movement; the purpose of the post is to promote membership of the One Wish Lottery either to potential new members, or to engage with cancelled or lapsed members primarily through door-to-door canvassing and at events or retail outlets as required. You will be a very enthusiastic, confident person with high resilience and excellent interpersonal skills. It is essential that you are honest and reliable with an open and friendly disposition. You will be organised, very self-motivated and be an excellent team player. It is essential that you are able to maintain confidentiality. Good literacy and numeracy skills are a must, previous experience of working within a similar role and environment would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given.

The hours are worked on a flexible and practical basis so will suit someone who requires a convenient way of working.
